Be My Friend!

Happy Valentine’s Day to all of you! So I guess by now you know that once a month on the third Tuesday, we make crazy good crafts. You do, right? Yes I thought you would! This month on February 18th 2014 @ 4:30 PM in the Robin Bush Activity Room, we will be making some friendship bracelets in the light of Valentine’s Day. Join me in making one or may be more friendship bracelets and have fun!

Tax Preparation Assistance Begins at the Barbara Bush Library

The AARP volunteers are once again ready to help customers prepare their tax returns.  Service is on a first come-first served basis.  All ages are welcome.  The volunteers will be available these hours:  Saturdays  10:00--4:00 and Mondays 1:00--8:00.

Senior Classic Movie

 

On Friday, February 14 we will show a love story from 1940 that is perfect for Valentine’s Day. This classic stars James Stewart and Margaret Sullavan. Come and share the love. Bring a friend.
In 2014 the Senior Classic Movies will be held twice a month on a Friday at 10:00. Dates will vary.

Meet The Author: Charlotte Stallings

Author Charlotte StallingsThe Read-In is tomorrow and the means we have one more author to meet—Charlotte Stallings.

A former Vice President of Investment Strategies at Ameriprise Financial, Charlotte developed a national initiative to provide investment and financial planning advice geared specifically to women. She served as the firm’s National Spokesperson on Women and Investing Issues.

Charlotte gained expertise in the nuts and bolts of sales, marketing, business and leadership from her years at US Banks, Xerox and over 20 years at American Express. By taking risks, making mistakes and gathering information, she grew into the kind of expert that you can trust.

Charlotte has made appearances on CNN and other national and regional media outlets. She is a weekly in-studio guest on Houston’s FOX26 ‘Wake-Up Money’ segment, and is also a member of the National Speakers Association. Charlotte was selected by The Steed Society and Comerica Bank as one of the Top 25 Women of Houston, and she has been a featured financial contributor in Essence Magazine and other publications.
