"So Brave, Young, and Handsome" by Leif Enger Evening Book Club selection for September

Come and join us in the Evening Book Club to discuss So Brave, Young, and Handsome by Leif Enger on September 8 at 7:00 PM.  "In this stunning successor to his bestseller Peace Like a River, Enger pens a rugged and nimble story about an aging train robber on a quest to reconcile the claims of love and judgment on his life, and the failed writer who goes with him."

Volunteer ESL Tutor Training -- September 12

The Barbara Bush Branch Library is seeking volunteer tutors to help non-English speaking adults learn to read, write, and speak English.  A free training workshop will take place at the library on Saturday, September 12, from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.  You need not speak another language or have teaching experience.  At the workshop we will introduce you to teaching techniques and materials which will allow you to communicate with non-English speaking students.  After training you will be matched with a student or a small group of students meeting at the library at a mutually convenient time.  For more information call Mi
