We’ve already enjoyed our trip to Japan and now, with our Summer Traveling Series, we’re off to New Zealand. Join us as the AAUW’s Travelmania group presents an introduction to the county of New Zealand. You will not only get to see the wonderful sights of this beautiful country, you will also learn about visiting from an experienced traveler.
Plus, you will have a chance to win a $20 gift card from a local bookstore at the end of the presentation. We’ll see you on Monday, June 17th, at 2pm in the Earl Elliott Room.
We had our first program from our Summer Travel Series on Monday and it was a ton of fun. Thanks to the Japan-America Society of Houston (JASH) we were able to learn so much about Japan. Kanji, yukatas, origami—it was all covered. Thank you for visiting the library, Mr. Tsuruta!
Also we drew for a $20 gift card to a local bookstore, which was exciting. Don't forget that there are four more programs this summer. That means there are four more chances to win a $20 gift card. Good luck!
A few weeks ago The Barbara Bush Library hosted a soldering class for beginners for the very first time. We were fortunate enough to have members from the Northwest Amateur Radio Society (NARS) teach the class. Great teachers, great students--it was a lot of fun. Check it out.
Since it was such a great experience, we here at the library were wondering if you would like to participate in more classes like soldering. Perhaps these classes would not necessarily involve soldering. They could cover other skills needed to create your own projects. Take a moment to answer the poll question below, so we know what you’re thinking:
Would you like to participate in classes, such as soldering, at the Barbara Bush Branch Library?
