Workforce Solutions will once again offer bi-monthly Job Search Seminars at the Barbara Bush Branch Library. The seminars will be held from 1:30-3:30 in the Robin Bush Activity room on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month. Come and learn how to search for a job more effectively and learn how to make the most of your skills.

Well if you haven’t then grab the perfect opportunity to come and see the Barbara Bush Branch Library mad scientist for yourself and to find out what he would be experimenting with. Join us in the Robin Bush Activity Room on Tuesday October 8th @ 4:30 PM for Silly Science and learn to create something slimy or icky. It’s going to be loads of fun!

Kindle E-Book Demo on Tuesday, October 8

 
If you have a Kindle, Kindle Fire, Kindle Keyboard, Kindle Touch or Kindle Paperwhite you can download e-books from the Harris County Public Library’s Digital Media Catalog.

The Kindle demo will be held on Tuesday, October 8 in the 2nd floor Barbara Bush Library Friends Computer Lab. Bring your Kindle, cables, and your Amazon password & user name if you have an Amazon account. You need an Amazon account to borrow a book.
You will need a library card & pin # to borrow a book from the Digital Catalog.
This class is now offered on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 11:00 AM.  Registration is required. Call 281-376-4610. Registration opens 30 days prior to the class.

Aspiring Writers Unite!

Or maybe you’ve started a project and feel a little stuck. You may have gotten your project on paper, but need some direction on which steps to take next.

On Saturday, November 9, the Barbara Bush Branch Library @ Cypress Creek will host I Want to Write a Book, Now What? panel discussion. The discussion will be led by the Northwest Houston Romance Writers of America. The writers will cover various topics for those who are eager to tackle that goal of becoming a writer. The program is free to the public, so join us at 11 a.m. in the Earl Elliott Room (Foyer) for this wonderful opportunity.
