Let's See a Play Together!

Who doesn’t enjoy a good play? And if that play is meant for all ages, even better! Right? What if I add that it’s free, would you say awesome? I figured you would. So if you love to see a great play that is also free, we have a wonderful program coming up. Join us for a play performance by Theatre for Everyone: Brave Little Company based on the book Tomás and the Library Lady by Pat Mora.

Kindle eReader: We will examine features, download and read books on your mobile device, access your email / Internet.
Bring your Kindle, cables, and your Amazon password & user name if you have an Amazon account. You need an Amazon account to borrow a book.
You will need a library card to borrow a book from the Digital Catalog.
The class will be on Friday, January 3 at 10:00 AM in the Barbara Bush Library Friends Computer Lab. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration opens 30 days prior the class. Call 281-376-4610 to register.

Senior Classic Movie

Come and enjoy a classic movie with friends at the library. On Friday, January 3rd we will show a a  classic movie from 1941 starring Veronica Lake and Joel McCrea.

"Hollywood director Joel McCrea, tired of churning out lightweight comedies, decides to make O Brother, Where Art Thou - a serious, socially responsible film about human suffering. After his producers point out that he know nothing of hardship, he hits  the road as a hobo. He finds the lovely Veronica Lake-and more trouble than he ever dreamed of."

Family That Reads Together!

 

Isn’t it wonderful when mommies and daddies come home from work? We love to see them.We love to do different things with them, right? One such thing is to read books together. Keeping that in mind, we at Barbara Bush Branch library have a Storytime at night. Come and join us every Monday night at 7 PM in the Robin Bush Activity Room for wonderful stories, songs and craft. It’s the best thing to do before going to bed!

So You Think Story Time is Not For You?

“Storytime? But that is for little kids, right? I am a big kid and I go to school. I can’t go to storytimes!” Have you ever had those thoughts? Once? Well, if you have or even if you haven’t, let me tell you that listening to stories is fun for all ages. (Pssst! I’ll even let you in on a secret. Even adults like that. That’s correct!)
