Building Community Collaborations!

Red, White and Blue BlanketDriving like bank robbers, Val and I packed up the car with forty-eight hand knitted lap blankets to be dropped off at Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center for local veterans receiving treatment at the hospital. These beautiful blankets, crafted by individual participants of the Knowledge Exchange, brighten the very sterile environment that our heroes are confined to, often for months, while they are patients on the Spinal Cord Injury Ward.
The San Jacinto Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution collects funds to purchase new yarn twice a year for the Knowledge Exchange. This collaboration has provided gorgeous yet “Manly” coverings for the men.
Lynn Katz delivered 230 chemo caps to The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Thank you Knowledge Exchange!
