A VISIT FROM AUTHOR WARREN HANSON

Author Warren Hanson

Author Warren Hanson was a special guest at the Knowledge Exchange program on May 28. Warren has recently relocated to the Spring area from Minnesota. He is an author, illustrator, singer and musician who has written many books for adults and children, including "Reading With Dad", "Older Love", and "Beginning." He has become well-known as the illustrator of "A Cup of Christmas Tea."

The Knowledge Exchange is an intergenerational group that meets at the library every Friday at 2:30 to knit and crochet and share these skills with others. They knit chemo caps for M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, lap blankets for the Veteran's Hospital, and helmet liners for active duty soldiers.

Warren read the group his very appropriate book called "Kiki's Hats," a lively story of a spunky and lovable woman who knits hats and gives them away, and in the process teaches everyone the joy of giving. Contact Warren about visiting your group through his website.

Come to the children’s information desk when 10 books are read or 500 pages are read or 500 minutes of reading has happened. The staff at the information desk will give your child their certificate and a free paperback book while supplies last. Children can continue to read beyond that and build a train going down the track. Ribbons are awarded for every 50 books read. So kids, be sure to Catch the Reading Express!
