Stand alone class: Kindle eReader: Bring your Kindle (Optional), examine features, download and read books on your mobile device, access your email / Internet.

Bring your cables, your Amazon password & user name if you have an Amazon account. You need an Amazon account to borrow a book. You will need a library card to borrow a book from the Digital Catalog.

The class will be on Wednesday, August 7 at 10:00 AM in the Barbara Bush Library Friends Computer Lab. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration opens 30 days prior the class. Call 281-376-4610 to         register.

Last Stop! Ireland!

Irish Countryside - Photo Courtesy of Jupiter ImagesThis year’s Summer Traveling Series has been a great one. We’ve learned a lot about places like Japan, New Zealand, Argentina, and Norway. We will be ending our travels with a visit to Ireland.On Monday, July 29, we will be joined by a nationally award-winning poet and genealogy blogger, Lisa "Smallest Leaf", who will share what her extensive research on Ireland has taught her.

Knowledge Exchange Fridays 2:30-4:30 Knit/Crochet


All who knit or crochet come and join a group that meets on Fridays at the library  from 2:30--4:30 pm year round.

They work on projects for the V.A. hospital and M.D. Anderson making lap blankets and chemo caps. Yarn is provided for these projects. Bring your own needles.

You can also work on your own projects while you share your stories and for these you will supply your own yarn.
There is a project for beginners. See you on Fridays!
