TAG, You're It!

Teens with teaTeens, what are your plans for this summer? Want to make a difference in the community? Need a reference for a job or college application? Then we have an opportunity for you!  Crosby Branch Library is currently seeking teen volunteers to form their all new Teen Advisory Group (TAG).  TAG will brainstorm with the Children's Librarian for great new teen programs and help with the summer reading program. Take a Virtual Trip to Japan!

Japanese pagodaHave you always wanted to travel to a foreign country but lacked the time or money?  Interested in different cultures? Then come and join us as Taka Tsuruta shares his program on Japanese culture!  Mr. Tsuruta is a Japanese expatriate with knowledge in a wide variety of subjects related to Japan and Japanese culture. He is currently the Program Outreach Coordinator for the Japan-America Society of Houston. The program is on Monday, May 13 at 4:00 pm and is open and free to the public.   Image ©JupiterImages


Curious George book cover with link to catalog Come and join in the fun as we celebrate the Week of the Young Child! We will have a story, a video, games  and a craft. The fun starts at 10:30 am on Tuesday, April 16th.


Parents, caregivers, and children, looking for something fun to do that won't break your budget?  Please join us at Crosby Branch Library for Storytime.  Preschool Storytime, for ages 3 to 6 years, is on Tuesday at 10:30 am.  Babytime for infants and toddlers is on Thursday at 10:30 am.  This week, young children enjoyed a special Spring activity.  After listening to stories, they went outside to collect colorful eggs.  We had refreshments and goodie bags, and were entertained by seasonal music on our branch ipad.
