Teen STEM Engineering Challenge

BridgeCalling all Teens! Come and test your engineering skills and take the STEM Challenge! How tall a tower can you build using only aluminum foil? How strong a bridge can you build using only straws, yarn and masking tape? Find out this Friday, June 24 at 4:00 pm. This program is for teens only! Kids under the age of 12 will get their chance to try on Monday, June 27 at 4:00 pm.

Houston Food Bank Will Provide Nutritious Free Lunches to Kids at Crosby Branch Library this Summer

Harris County Public Library is proud to announce that Crosby Branch Library will provide nutritious, free lunches to area children through the Houston Food Bank’s Kids Café program. Only children 1 – 18 years are eligible. Meals and snacks are provided on a first come, first served basis. Supplies are limited, but will be adjusted depending on demand.

June 6 – August 4
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays
Lunch 12:30 – 1:30pm

Friends Book Sale June 4th and 5th

The Friends of Crosby Branch Library will have a book sale Friday June 3 from 1-6 pm, and Saturday June 4 from 10-5 pm.  Shop for new and used books, magazines, movies, and more at great low prices.  Plus, your summer reading is in the bag with a special deal:  fill a reusable Miffy tote bag to the brim for only $10.  Get one for yourself, and one for a friend!

Crosby Book Club celebrates Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month on Friday, May 20, at 2 pm, with a discussion of Frangipani, by Celestine Vaite.  This charming book brings to life Tahitian family, culture, and tradition, through a story as light as an island breeze.  Are Tahitian mother-daughter relationships very different from American ones?  Find out by getting to know Frangipani's unforgettable heroine, Materena, and her free-spirited daughter Leilani.
