Next Tuesday: Coding with Scratch!

Ever wanted to learn how to code? The geniuses at the MIT Media Lab developed Scratch which is a great way to start! We will learn how to use Scratch.mit.edu/ to code our own interactive stories, animations, and games. No registration is required, just join us in the computer lab next Tuesday (4/25) at 4:30pm!

Next Wednesday, Make and Fly a Kite for Earth Day!

Earth Day is the 22nd, and it is National Kite Month! What better way to enjoy the great outdoors than making and flying a kite? Next Wednesday (4/19) at 4:30pm, join us in the meeting room and we'll make a great kite, learn how best to utilize the wind with them, and fly them in our lovely Rex Meador Park. No registration is required.

Closed for Easter!

Just a reminder that the Evelyn Meador Library, and all Harris County Public Library branches, will be closing early on Thursday April 13th at 5pm, and will remain closed until Monday morning (April 17th) when we will resume normal hours. Have a great and safe Holiday!

National Poetry Month Tween/Teen Poetry Contest!

Attention wordsmiths 11-17 years old! April is National Poetry Month and we will have our second Teen/Tween Poetry Contest. Submit your original word art, of any form or length, to the Information Desk by the 25th of April for a chance to win a pizza party for yourself and three friends! Be sure to add contact information to your poetry as the winner will be announced on the 27th.

Next Maker Craft Day: Biodegradable Bird Feeders!

Spring has sprung and the birds are chirping. For our next Maker craft we'll be making birdfeeders with very simple ingredients that will all be a tasty treat for your local winged friends (and a few squirrels too, I bet). The creation starts at next Wednesday (4/5) at 4:30pm in the meeting room. No registration is required.
