Back to School Backpack Buttons!

With school starting and the summer winding down we're all trying to find ways to brighten our days. Teen and kids are invited to join us in the Evelyn Meador Meeting Room for Backpack Buttons!

Though no registration is required, and the program is free, supplies are limited. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own pictures to be made into buttons, though staff will have stickers, markers, and construction paper ready for on-the-spot customization!

The date is set for the 19th at 4:30pm!

New Artist Exhibit at Evelyn Meador

We have a new Artist exhibiting in our Meeting Room for the month of September. Eric Klusendorf is a local artist who likes to work in a variety of formats, and always welcomes a new challenge. You may have seen his work around town. He has painted murals in schools as well as  portraits of many of our local businesses and homes in the area. Eric also likes wood carving and you can see some of his work in lawns in the area. He has carved some of our tree stumps left over from Ike into amazingly beautiful works of art. It may be a mermaid, or a sea turtle; you just never know where his imagination will take him. Come view an exhibit of his work in our library, and you may find yourself wanting a portrait of your home or business or a carving of your own before you leave!

Teddy Bear Picnic at Evelyn Meador

We had a fantastic time honoring the one and only Winnie-the-Pooh on Tuesday. Pooh turned 90 years old on August 21, 2011 and we threw a Teddy Bear Picnic to Celebrate.
