Fun4Seniors Goes Danish

Danish MuseumHow about a short hour-and-a-half road trip, some painless education, and a delicious lunch? Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program is offering a trip to the Danish Heritage Museum in Danevang, Texas, for people age 50 or better. The trip is on Wednesday, September 30, and includes a bus ride from our parking lot to the museum, a tour, a Danish lunch, and a ride back for only $25. America's Deadliest Storm

September 8 is the anniversary of a tremendously important event in the history of Galveston and Texas. It was on the evening of September 8, 1900 that a category 4 hurricane hit Galveston and nearly wiped it off the map. It was the deadliest natural disaster in US history, killing somewhere between 6,000 and 12,000 people. Before the storm, Galveston was a rich, cultured, and thriving seaport city. Celebrating Grandparents

Mother's Day is celebrated in May and Father's Day in June.  But what about Grandparents?  That is celebrated in September and this year falls on Sunday, September 13.  To help you celebrate Grandparents Day we have a new display of children's picture books for you to check out and share with family and friends.  Please browse this selection on your next visit to the library.  Happy Reading!
