Faithful Paws R.E.A.D. @ Your Library

This Saturday, 9/17, the library welcomes Faithful Paws volunteers Karie and Jeanene, and their trained, certified therapy dogs, Cooper and Shiner, for a Reading Education Assistance Dogs program. They will be visiting the library on the 3rd Saturday of each month, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. This program is for school age children that would like to practice their reading skills, by reading a story to a furry, non-judgmental audience. You may bring your own book, or choose a library book. Please remember to be kind to our canine volunteers, and we hope that you enjoy this unique reading experience.

Your neighborhood library is filled with stacks of great books, but what do you do when it's raining, or you don't have transportation, or you don't feel like getting out of bed, and you just have to have something awesome to read?  Have you ever tried reading an eBook?  Well, now is the perfect time.  Read an eBook Day is coming! Start the search for your perfect eBook right here.  Just limit the eBook results by subject, or age group, to find your next great eRead.

Library Card Sign-up Month

Adult lib cardSome people come to the library all the time but don't have a library card. They probably don't realize that your first library card is FREE, and it only takes a few minutes to get one. Also, if you're only going to use our digital resources (eBooks, eAudio, databases, streaming movies, TV shows, and music, etc.), you don't even need to come to the library to set up a library card account. You can do it online! September is National Library Card Sign-up Month, so now is a perfect time to get an account set up and start taking advantage of all your library offers!
