Summer Bake Sale

Support Summer Reading by visiting our Bake Sale this Saturday, from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Our Friends of the Library will be selling baked goods generously prepared and donated by the Teen Advisory Group, and others. As always, all proceeds fund activities, materials, and more for your neighborhood library, including our summer programs for teens. The sale will start inside the main library at 10:00 AM. Zombies & Superheroes, Kickball & a Movie

Zombies vs superheroesPeople in 6th -12th grades are invited to join us this Friday, June 17, at 11:00 am, for a slightly different game of kickball. You can play for Team Zombies or Team Superheroes, or be a referee. Players are encouraged to dress in costume, but it is not required; buttons or stickers will be provided to wear. You must call or visit the library to register; space is limited. The teen movie screening will follow, and will feature a zombie or superhero movie chosen by the winning team, rated PG-13. Food and drinks will be provided.

Snakes @ Your Library

Mark your calendar for the Texas Snakes program here at Fairbanks Branch Library at 10:30 AM on Thursday, June 16 in the library meeting room.  Mr. Clint will discuss snake safety and bring several non-venomous snakes that you can touch and hold as well as getting your picture holding them.  See you then!  

Summer Water Safety

On Tuesday, June 14th, at 11:00 am in the library meeting room will be the water safety program for children.  The water safety program includes a Disney educational video, and afterwards the children will participate in interactive activities to reinforce the education from the video.  Each child will go home with incentives like pencils, stickers, coloring books, bookmarks, and a tip sheet for parents about water safety.  See you there!

Teen Events this Week @ Fairbanks

Join us this Friday, June 10, at 12:00 PM for our first color war.  This color war has a Divergent twist, and we will be making color powder balls and using them in a game of capture the flag.  Color powder can stain, so dress accordingly.  All participants will be asked to sign a waiver of liability.  At 1:00 PM, join us inside the library meeting room for our Dauntless Party.  Enjoy Dauntless themed food and a chance to get a green screen photo of yourself jumping from a train.  Today's movie will be selected by the winning team.  Grades 6-12, as of fall 2016, are invited.
