Senior Game Day Hasn’t Ended!

CardsThose nice ladies from the Precinct 4 Commissioner’s office don’t drive all the way from Huffman to Fairbanks to host Senior Game Day any more, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop!  Anyone age 50 or better is still welcome to come to the Fairbanks Library meeting room on the 3rd and 4th Tuesday of each month to play cards, dominoes or trivia games or your favorite board game from home.  The fun starts at 1 pm and the next three dates are March 25, April 15 and April 22.  [Clipart © JupiterImages.com]

Winging Into Spring

The season of Spring is starting to seem closer and closer as some warmer weather comes to the area and some plants and trees begin to blossom.  The Fairbanks Branch Library is celebrating the coming of spring-like weather with a new display of books, "Winging Into Spring."  We have started the display with an interesting selection of books about butterflies and we encourage you to browse the display on your next visit to the library.  You can find some titles to check out and share with others and celebrate the coming of Spring.  Happy Reading!

Spring Break & Library Requests

Spring BreakIf you have requested a library item from another branch and you realize that it is likely to arrive when you are out of town, you can suspend your request until a more convenient date, without losing your place in line.  To suspend a request through our web site, go to “my account,” log in with your library card number and PIN, and click “hold requests.” Next to “Requested items not yet available,” select the date that you want the hold to reactivate, put check marks in the boxes next to the items you want to suspend and click the “change status” button.  That’s it.  Your requests will automatically reactivate on the date that you chose.  Feel free to talk to the staff about suspending requests.
