Get Organized!

Because January is Get Organized Month, I’d like to point out that your public library has oodles of books that teach you how to get organized.  Oddly, the subject heading for them is “orderliness.”  Here’s a small sample:
Organizing Inside Out

Reading About Famous People @ Your Library

If you like to read biographies about famous people and autobiographies that some people write about themselves, then please browse a new display at the library, "Famous Lives."  You will find books about politicians, actors, world leaders, and many others either on the display or in the "Biography" section of the library.  If we do not have a biography of someone you want to read about, please let us know and we will interlibrary loan it for you.  Happy Reading!

The Cat in the Hat Holiday Story Times

Celebrate the holidays at the Cat in the Hat Story Times at the Fairbanks Branch Library.  The famous cat (and hat) will visit the Preschool story time on Tuesday, December 27, at 10:30 am in the library meeting room, and Toddler Time on Wednesday, December 28, at 10:30 am in the library meeting room.  And, an extra special holiday story time with the Cat in the Hat will be on Thursday, December 29, at 10:30 am in the library meeting room.  So, all you cool cats, have a Happy Holidays and see you soon at the library!  Meow!

Christmas Stories for Grown-ups

There’s no question that children are a big part of Christmastime festivities.  But that doesn’t mean the adults have to be left out.  Lots of authors write Christmas novels for us grown-ups.  Some of the most prolific writers of Christmas fiction are Debbie Macomber, Anne Perry, and Mary Higgins Clark.  Check out the Christmas books by them and others on our “Jingle Bell Reading” display.
