Wild Weather @ Your Library

One of the first things you learn when you live in the Houston area is that if you do not like the weather, then just wait for an hour or so and the weather probably will change.  We certainly have had quite a few days lately of warm, muggy weather alternating with days of cooler weather for which you need to wear a coat or jacket.  And, lots and lots of rain the last few days as well.  Weather often changes dramatically, so we have created a new display of books about the weather for your browsing pleasure.  Please take a look on your next visit to the library and checkout some titles.  If you do not find what you need, please ask us and we will interlibrary loan material for you.  Happy Reading!

March is National Craft Month

CraftingAccording to the Lark Crafts website (www.larkcrafts.com), the Craft & Hobby Association began celebrating National Craft Month in 1994 to promote the joys of crafting to both new and experienced crafters. Only a handful of retailers and manufacturers participated in the beginning, but now millions of crafters around the world share their love of crafting.

Are you curious about a new craft? Take the time to try out a project that you've been planning or pass on your knowledge to a beginner crafter.
