May the 4th Be With You!

I bet some people are asking what do I mean by "May the 4th Be With You!"  If you are a fan of the "Star Wars" books and movies, then you probably already know that it is a fun re-phrasing of "May the force be with you" from the movies.  In celebration of "Star Wars" and all those who enjoy space adventure stories, there is a display of "Star Wars" books here at the Fairbanks Branch Library.  Stop by.  Take a look.  Check out some books.  It's what any good Jedi Knight would do! !

April 19 is National High Five Day

National High Five Day takes place every third Thursday in April. The holiday was created in 2002 by college students at the University of Virginia. The students celebrated National High Five Day with lemonade and plenty of High Fives.

To learn more about the origins and how to participate, visit the National High Five Day website at

Where did High Fives come from? No one knows for sure, but sometime during the 1970's, sports teams started using the congratulatory gesture and it's been here ever since.

So be sure to give everyone a High Five on Thursday!
