Mardi Gras comes to the Children's Department

  Join us as we celebrate Mardi Gras during Toddler and Preschool storytimes February 28-March 2.  We will have a story, fingerplays, and a special surprise at the end of the storytime.  Tickets are a required.  They are free and available starting thirty minutes before the program from the Kids Information Desk.  Don't miss out on the fun, cher!

 

Teen Advisory Board

hey! a bookcart shaped like a bus!Are you opinionated? Are you creative? Do you want to earn volunteer hours? Do you like food? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you’re the perfect candidate for the Teen Advisory Board (TAB). Our next meeting is Monday, February 28th @ 4:30 pm in the first floor Meeting Room.  We’ll be working on our decorated book cart for the Houston Art Car Parade.

What exactly is TAB, you might ask? The Freeman TAB provides an excellent leadership opportunity to local teens who provide input on Library programming and events, Library materials, and marketing. TAB members also participate in special volunteer and community-oriented projects.

Movie Day @ your library

Adults of all ages are invited to come to the under50over Movie Day this Friday. The title is to be announced and will begin at 10:15 am. Movie Day will take place in the Children’s Activity Space on the first floor of the library. Light refreshments are provided by the Friends of Freeman.

Freeman Teens Read

freeman teens readJoin us in the Teen Zone on Wednesday, February 23rd @ 4:30 pm for our monthly Freeman Teens Read program.  Share your favorite games, books, songs, movies or television shows while we munch on tasty snacks.  Ash and Meredith will be on hand to give their recommendations too!  We always have a great conversation and get great suggestions, both old and new, for all types of media.  See you there!

Girl Scout IP:EJ! "Heritage Hunt" Now Open

The Clear Lake City-County Freeman Branch Library continues its Girl Scout “Interest Project: Exploration Journeys!” program with on Monday, March 21st. This particular workshop will feature work towards the “Heritage Hunt” Interest Project Award, assisting older Girl Scouts in accomplishing certain steps towards the “Heritage Hunt” Interest Project Award as well as parts of various Girl Scout Journeys. The workshop will begin at 5 pm and will take place in the Computer Lab on the second floor of the library. Light refreshments will be provided compliments of the Friends of Freeman Library.
