Gingerbread House Fun starts next Monday, December 21!

Join us for a Freeman tradition: decorate an edible gingerbread house!  This festive fun will be on Monday, December 21 at 2:30 pm and Tuesday, December 22 for sessions at 2:30 and 4:00 pm.  The gingerbread house fun is recommended for children 3-12 years old.  Tickets are required.  They are free and given out 30 minutes before each program.  This event always is well-attended, so we recommend that children and their grownup arrive 15-20 minutes before the tickets are given out.   The gingerbread houses are made of graham crackers, frosting, and lots of goodies.  Oak Farms Dairy generously donated milk cartons to use as a base for the house and the Friends of Freeman Library generously paid for all the goodies used to decorate the houses.

2015 Lunar Rendezvous Festival Contribution

The Friends of Freeman Library were the recipients of a generous gift due to funds raised by the Lunar Rendezvous Festival for 2015.  The Festival organizers provided the Friends $2,000, which will go towards Freeman Library's classic literature collection and will be a significant help to students who often need copies of such works for school reading assignments.

The Lunar Rendezvous Festival (LRF) celebrated its 50th year in 2015.  LRF, according to its website, "is dedicated to providing community support, including scholarships for higher education, youth development and educational programs, funding for the arts and historical preservation in the Bay Area Houston/NASA area."  Freeman Library and the Friends of Freeman Library thank those involved with the Lunar Rendezvous Festival for their support of the Clear Lake community!
