Teen Tech Week: Mix & Mash @ Your Library

Teen Tech Week begins next week and is celebrated nationally to promote non-print resources available through your library and to encourage creativity in the use of technology.  Here at Freeman we have audiobook collections, music CDs, DVDs and laptops available for check out, but with your library card you can access online copies of magazines, journals, and reference books as well as download eBooks, eAudio, music and movies.  There are so many resources available to you (for school and for fun) with your library card!

Drop Everything & Read Something!

Reading on the sofaJoin us in the Teen Zone on Wednesday, March 2nd @ 4:30 pm for reading, book recommendations, and snacks!  Ash and Meredith will be on hand to help you find something interesting to read or bring something along with you.

"Adult Crafts-to-Go!" says "Happy Birthday, Texas!"

The Clear Lake City-County Freeman Branch Library invites you to pick up the March “Adult Crafts to Go” project beginning Tuesday, March 1st. In honor of Texas’ 175th birthday on March 2nd, we are making Lone Star Lapel Pins. This program, supported by the Friends of Freeman, features simple craft projects which may be picked up at the second floor Information Desk. These projects can be taken anywhere and made anywhere. Fridays in March @ your library

The Clear Lake City - County Freeman Branch Library anticipates Fridays as it continues the under50over Program in March 2011. The schedule of events for March is to the right.* In March, under50over will host presentations on the Galveston County Museum Collection, Beneficial and Destructive Insects in the Garden, and the “ABC’s of Medicare” & “The Drug Plan: How to Avoid the Donut Hole.” At the end of the month, we will have a Movie Day. 

All programs except for Movie Day start at 10:30 am each Friday morning. On Movie Days, under50over begins promptly at 10:15 am. Movie Days usually take place on the last Friday of the month. Programs normally take place in the Marge Jacobson Community Room on the first floor.

Mardi Gras comes to the Children's Department

  Join us as we celebrate Mardi Gras during Toddler and Preschool storytimes February 28-March 2.  We will have a story, fingerplays, and a special surprise at the end of the storytime.  Tickets are a required.  They are free and available starting thirty minutes before the program from the Kids Information Desk.  Don't miss out on the fun, cher!
