"Mindful Art" in the Internet Cafe

Over the next few months, local artist Eugenia Algaze Garcia will have her works titled "Imagination Unleashed" in her larger "Mindful Art" series on display in the Internet Cafe.  Hidden within each beautiful piece are special symbols, figures, and images that provide a different perspective on what you perceive at first glance.  Be sure not to miss this imaginative series while it is here!

Library Snapshot Day

Wednesday, October 31st, was designated by the Texas Library Association as Library Snapshot Day, a day during which libraries across the state gather data and photographs of a typical day in order to promote Texas libraries.  Here at Freeman, there were over 100 people in attendance for story times, computer classes, and English as a Second Language sessions, over 300 reference questions answered, and over 1,200 items checked out!  Not too shabby for a random day!  Take a look at just a few pictures of the day's activities here.

Crafts-to-Go Celebrates Native American Heritage Month

The Clear Lake City - County Freeman Branch Library will offer the continuation of the Adult “Crafts- to-Go!” program in conjunction with Native American Heritage Month on Thursday, November 1st.  This month's project is a scratch art leaf as pictured on the right. On the reverse side of the directions is a web link to the Wyandot legend of why the leaves are so many different colors in the autumn. All materials needed are included within the bag, compliments of the Friends of Freeman Library.  This project will be available at the Second Floor Information Desk while supplies last.
