Adults of all ages, please join us for the under50over  on Friday, July 2nd when Laura Smith, Reference Librarian, will present "Genealogy: Beyond the Census."  This program will start at 10:30 and will be held in the Marge Jacobson Community Room on the first floor.

book bindingLooking for something fun and free to do? Want to create something unique for yourself or to give as a gift? Join us next Tuesday, July 6th @ 2:30pm in the Teen Zone for a book binding craft. Bring your own pictures to make a photo album or create your own journal. It’ll be a lot of fun – see you there!

Take Me To Your Reader!

alien or not?Have you registered for the Teen Summer Reading Program? If you haven’t, there is still plenty of time to sign up and complete it by reading 5 books or for 600 minutes. Next Wednesday, June 30th @ 2:30 pm you’re invited to join us in the Teen Zone to talk about all that you’ve been reading this summer: what you’ve loved, what you’ve hated, what you recommend and what you suggest we all avoid! It’ll be a lot of fun – see you there!

This Friday @ your Library

Adults of all ages are invited to come to the under50over Movie Day this Friday. The title is to be announced and will start at 10:15 am. Refreshments are provided by the Friends of Freeman.

We also look forward to under50over programs on selected Fridays in July and August, 2010. During Summer 2010, we'll hear about Genealogy, Mark Twain, and view movies at the end of each month.

Database - Biography Resource Center

Do you need to do a report about famous person? Does your instructor require print resources? Just curious about notable women or Russian monarchs?

The Biography Resource Center provides information on more than 350,000 people from all sorts of times and places. Patrons, at the library branch or remotely, can search this database by using Search by Name (i.e. - Catherine th Great), Category Browse (i.e. - Notable Women), Biographical Facts Search (i.e. - occupation), or Advanced Search. Users can even click on the Spotlight On... person.
