LEGO Robotics Camp returns to Freeman Library in October

The USA LEGO Robotics Camp returns to Freeman Library for four Saturdays in October (10/10,10/17,10/24 & 10/31).  The camp is for children 7-11 years old.  It began at Freeman Library in 2009 with donations from United Space Alliance  and the Friends of Freeman Library.  Each of the four Saturdays, children build LEGO projects using a programmed laptop and a LEGO kit.   Teen and adult volunteers assist the children with the projects if needed.  A middle school teacher oversees the camp each week to introduce the children to some of the science and math concepts they'll observe.

Due to the popularity of the camp, we will have a drawing for spots in this free camp.  The registration for the drawing runs from Saturday, September 19 through September 26.  We will have a registration form and registration box at the Kids Information Desk.  Drawing registration slips are limited to 1 per child.

Baby Playtime returns this Friday, September 18 @ 10:00 am

Some of the fun toys and books have been purchased through the generous donations of the Friends of Freeman Library.  They have a great bookstore to the right as you enter the library.

Also, September is Library Card Sign-up Month.  Babies are welcome to get a library card.
