Vote for your favorite pumpkin in Project Pumpkin 2016

  Children of all ages are invited to cast a vote in an annual Freeman tradition - Project Pumpkin.  This year we have 8 pumpkin contestants that have been decorated by library staff and volunteers.  The pumpkins will be on display through Saturday, November 5.  We will post the results of the vote on Monday, November 7.  Thank you to the Friends of Freeman Library for supporting the purchase of pumpkins and other materials for this project.

TGIF Programs Friday Film Series Features Gulf Coast Reads Topic This Friday!


TGIF Programs Friday Film Series proudly partners with Gulf Coast Reads. Please join us in the Children's Activity Space this Friday at 10:15 AM as we show Snow Falling on Cedars (1999), a film starring Ethan Hawke, Max von Sydow, and Yûki Kudô. The film is rated PG-13 for disturbing images, sensuality and brief strong language.This will conclude the 2016 Gulf Coast Reads Events at Freeman.

Project Pumpkin 2016 starts this Saturday, October 29

  Project Pumpkin returns to Freeman Library this Saturday, October 29.   Staff from Freeman are busy decorating pumpkins based on literary characters and other children's themes.  Children of all ages will be able to view and vote on the pumpkins from Saturday, October 29 through Saturday, November 5 in the Children's Department.   Thank you to the Friends of Freeman Library for their generous support of this and many other programs at Freeman.

Toddler Costume Parade on Tuesday, October 25 and Monday, October 31!

  Toddlers can show off their Halloween costume this Tuesday, October 25 at 10:15 am and 11:15 am and next Monday, October 31 at 11:15 am.   This storytime program is designed for children 18 months to 3 years old.  In addition to stories and songs, we will have a costume parade.  The children will be able to go to several stations in the Children's Department to pick up treats.

Tickets are required for these programs.  They are free and available at the Kids Information desk starting at 10:00 am for the 10:15 am programs and 10:45 for the 11:15 programs.  Thank you to the Friends of Freeman Library for their support of these programs.
