Check out our butterfly exhibit in the Children's Department

Harris County Public Library celebrates Citizenship Month with a display of information on how to become a U.S. citizen.  Included with this display, we also have a neat butterfly exhibit that parents as well as children can enjoy.  The displays are on a table right before you get to the Children's Department.

Right now, we're in the chrysalis phase with the butterflies.  We'll have updates through the stage when we have colorful butterflies.

If you have a chance, please drop by the Children's Department to see how the exhibit is developing.

HCPL at Houston Mini Maker Faire

The Houston Mini Maker Faire this year is bigger and better than ever!  We will be there representing HCPL and the Jocelyn H. Lee Innovation Lab to share all of the many cool and fascinating things that we do in our library system.  One of the more interesting things you may see is a life-sized 3D printed costume designed by a young maker named Nickolas, pictured left.  You can read more about this unique creation and the Maker Faire here.

The Faire takes place this Saturday, 11/14/15, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the George R. Brown Convention Center.  We hope to see you there!
