Looking for fun activities for the children to do during Spring Break?  The Friends of Freeman Library sponsor a week of programs each year called Books Alive! Week.  As with all other programs, there is no charge for any of the events.   Most programs do require a ticket.  The tickets are given out 30 minutes before the program, except for programs that begin at 10:15 am -those tickets are given out when we open at 10:00 am. 

TGIF Programs Tech Q&A Series - This Friday @ 10:30 AM

The TGIF Programs' popular “Technology Question & Answer” Series continues in the upstairs Training Lab this Friday at 10:30 AM. Here’s a chance to ask Freeman Library staff and other attendees about computers, smartphones, mobile devices, and eMedia from the HCPL Digital Media Catalog. Please feel free to bring along your portable, technology devices.

This Thursday @ 6:30 PM - Meditation for Everyday Living

William Smith, is a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel, Camp Director for an international children’s meditation camp and acknowledged leader in building teams as well as a long time meditation practitioner for over 30 years. He will present research on how meditation can improve our physical, mental and spiritual health. William will discuss effective methods for creating a more satisfying lifestyle including harmonious relationships and a deep sense of peace. In this presentation, you will learn effective strategies and a simple but profound meditation technique that will help remove stress and worry.

Classical Guitarist Peter Fletcher - Free Concert - Next Monday @ 7 PM

Next Monday @ 7 PM - We are pleased to announce the return of award winning classical guitarist Peter Fletcher for another captivating live performance, sponsored by the Friends of Freeman Library. Mr. Fletcher has garnered widespread acclaim for his sold-out concerts at Carnegie Hall in New York. He has made numerous appearances on radio and television and local venues around the country. Mr. Fletcher has also received praise for his classical guitar recordings which include works by Frederico Mompau, Erik Satie and Edvard Grieg.

Read Across America Celebration: Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

The Children's Department celebrates Dr. Seuss' birthday on Thursday, March 3 at 4:30 pm.  The birthday celebration features crafts, activities, books, and treats inspired by  Dr. Seuss books!  This program is recommended for all ages.  Tickets are required.  They are free and given out starting 30 minutes before the program.   Thanks to the Friends of Freeman for supporting this fun birthday celebration.
