Afterschool Ancient Art Program coming for children 10 years and older in February

   For four Mondays in February (4th, 11th, 18th and 25th), children ages 10 and above will explore and create artwork in the style of several ancient cultures.  This afterschool program will start at 4:30 pm and last for an hour.  Children should be able to attend each of the four weeks.   They will need a smock or old shirt to protect their clothing while doing the art projects.

USA LEGO Robotics Camp starts up on Saturday, February 9

      The USA LEGO Robotics Camp will be returning to Freeman Library for four Saturdays from February 9 through March 2.  This free camp is for children 7-11 years.  The children use the LEGO WeDo program on laptops and LEGO kits to create fun projects together.  The children learn mechanical and science concepts while they work in pairs or a small group to build the projects.  They are assisted by a middle school teacher and teen as well as adult volunteers.

Homeschoolers: Cast your Texas Bluebonnet Award vote this Friday 1/18

        Homeschooled children who would be in grades 3-6 and who have read or listened to at least 5 of the 2012-2013 Texas Bluebonnet Award nominee books are invited to cast a vote for their favorite nominee book on Friday, January 18 at the Kids Information Desk.  We will have a ballot box at the desk all day for homeschool children to vote.  Children enrolled at schools cast their vote at school.  

We have a year-round display of Texas Bluebonnet Award books in the Children's Department.  There now are books for the 2012-2013 session and books for the 2013-2014 session available for checkout.  

TGIF Programs Presents "The Future of Ellington Field" on 1/18

TGIF Programs at Clear Lake City-County Freeman welcomes you this Friday - January 18th at 10:30 am in the Marge Jacobson Community Room. Brian Rinehart, General Manager of Ellington Field will be presenting "The Future of Ellington Field."
