With the holidays approaching, join us on Thursday, 11/29 at 7:00 PM in the second floor Conference Room to make colorful cards to send out to your family and friends. Adults - Wednesday, 11/28 @ 7 PM - Kick the Sugar Habit

Valerie Coyle, Certified Health & Life Coach, will discuss: What sugar does in your body, Why we start & can’t stop, and How to transform sugar cravings. She will also talk about high fructose corn syrup, what spikes our blood sugar and creates a ‘blood sugar roller coaster’ and its results on hormone insulin and correlating hormone glucagon. Come and learn 7 solutions to sugar cravings. This workshop will be held on Wednesday, November 28 at 6:00 PM in the first floor Meeting Room.

Adults - HCPL Database Series in November

Adults - Did you know... Harris County Public Library provides members with numerous databases? Also, did you know you can use our databases to do practical and fun things? Find out how! In our November classes, we'll focus on:

  • "Home Improvement Reference Center" on 11/13
  • "Hobbies & Craft Reference Center" on 11/20

Both classes will start at 3:30 PM and will be held in the upstairs Training Lab. Please register Online or by giving the Reference Desk a call @ 832-927-5420.

Adults - Mon. 11/12 - Freeman Mystery Book Group Featuring Peter Spiegelman

 

The Freeman Mystery Book Group is a gathering of mystery book enthusiasts. No registration is required. A new author is chosen each month.

For the November meeting, we will discuss mysteries by author Peter Spiegelman. Read any of his books and come share your thoughts or just tell us what mysteries you've been reading! Check the library catalog to request items or contact the library for assistance.
