Free Preparation for All Kinds of Tests

TestAnother one of Harris County Public Library’s many electronic resources is Learning Express Library. Not only does it offer test preparation for the tests that you would expect, like the GED, SAT, and ACT, it also covers an amazing variety of occupational exams, the ASVAB, AP exams, various STAAR tests, the US Citizenship test, and many more. They also have skill building components for math, science, reading, grammar, and writing. In addition, there are career-building components like searching for jobs, internships, colleges, and careers and tools for getting hired, and skills and strategies to help students succeed in college. Come to our computer lab on Saturday, May 12, at 10 am, and let us show you how to access these great resources.

Adult Volunteers Needed May 7-11

Tired of sitting around the house? Come and help us out at the library! All you have to do is watch the entrance and make a tally mark on a sheet of paper every time someone walks in. Our teen volunteers have the after-school hours pretty well covered, but we need people to count before school lets out. We need volunteers on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1-3 pm, and on Tuesday and Thursday from 10 am-3pm. Please call us and sign up for one or more 2-hour shifts. We will really, really appreciate you!
