African American Read In

Everyone is invited to our annual African American Read In, held in partnership with E.B.O.N.Y. We'll have author talks, a storyteller for the kids, kid's crafts, and our Curiosity Cruiser will be here! After the author talks, there will be refreshments and a chance to buy the author's books.

The event will be held at the Forum at the Cypress Creek Christian Community Center located at 6823 Cypresswood Drive.

Live Shakespeare At Your Library!

 Speak of Me As I Am: A Celebration of African American Contributions to Shakespeare

 Thursday, Feb. 21     7pm

In partnership with Main Street Theatre, we are proud to present a one of a kind reading created especially for Harris County Public Library. Actors from Main Street Theatre's Shakespeare for All program will share history, stories and of course, scenes and speeches from Shakespeare. This is an interactive,  audience friendly presentation that reminds us that Shakespeare is indeed for All.

Join us for a special presentation by Main Street Theater at Barbara Bush Branch Library on Feb 21, 2019 at 7pm in the Earl Elliott Meeting Room. 

Pen & Paintbrush Book Discussion

The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts and the Barbara Bush Branch Library presents the Pen and Paintbrush Book Discussion on January 31, 2019 in the museum's Northgate Forest Conference Room.

During each museum exhibition cycle, a written work related to current art exhibitions is selected for discussion. Pen & Paintbrush events include a discussion of the selected work, followed by a tour of current art exhibitions with a special emphasis on the common themes they share.  This event is open to all – no membership or RSVP is required!

Fun Programs for School Age Kids Every Tuesday at 5pm

Flyer for afterschool programsJoin us every Tuesday at 5pm for a fun activity for school age children. Most programs are for kids ages 5-12, with the occasional program geared for 8-12 year olds. Activities include arts and crafts, STEM activities, holiday fun, guest presenters, games and more! To attend these programs, pick up a free ticket 15 minutes prior to the program at the Children's Information Desk.
