Come to the Fair!

Logo for 2010 La Porte Health & Safety Fair Come to the 2010 La Porte Health & Safety Fair on Saturday, September 25, from 9 am - 1 pm at La Porte Junior High, 401 S. Broadway. 
 
The event is free and open to the public. The first 500 children will receive free Safety-Fair t-shirts. Many door prizes will be given away throughout the fair.
 
Also available free that day: health screenings, children’s immunizations, and child ID kits. There will be fire trucks, police vehicles, and ambulances to view, and a 24-foot Rock Wall for climbing. 
 
The Fair is sponsored by the City of La Porte, LEPC, and La Porte ISD.

Fun for Whole Family: Ballunar Liftoff Festival

Picture of Hot Air BalloonsMark your calendars for a fun outdoor family event for the weekend of October 29, 30, & 31. The RE/MAX Ballunar Festival is an annual event that pays tribute to the achievement of human flight. It is held at the NASA/Johnson Space Center, 1201 Nasa Rd. 1. The gates open Friday, October 29 at 6 pm and there will be live music, entertainment, carnival rides, food, arts and crafts. On Saturday the day begins at 7:30 am with balloon navigational competition, skydivers, and air sport activities all day long. Fee to enter is $10 per car. See the RE/MAX Ballunar Liftoff Festival website for more information or call 281-488-7676.
