What is Your Story?

The Maud Marks Library has many ways to find your ancestors over the upcoming weeks.  First, this Tuesday, October 25 at 7 PM, we will be teaching a class on Online Genealogy.  A librarian will show you how to find your long lost family members and stories using Library Edition, HeritageQuest, and other online resources.  Then on Wednesday, October 26 at 10 AM, specialists will be here to assist people in using the website and database.  

On Monday, October 31 at 7 PM, Sue Kaufman, manager of the Clayton Genealogical Library, will be here to discuss "How to Get the Most From Your Trip to Clayton."  Come learn strategies for the budding genealogist from the director of one of the top Genealogical libraries in the country.  

We're Showing Hotel Transylvania!

Katy ISD has early dismissal on Friday, October 21, but don't go crying to your mummy about having nothing to do. Maud Marks Library has planned ahead just for you with a great Halloween-themed movie. Come to the library for the spook-tacular Hotel Transylvania. Just in time to get you ready for Halloween. The movie will begin at 1:15 PM, but if that's not enough to make you howl with delight we'll provide you with some free popcorn too!

Green Thumb Gardening Series

Oranges. Limes. Figs. Apples. Peaches. What do you know about planting and caring for fruit trees in the Houston area? The Master Gardeners of Harris County will be here at the Maud Marks Library with their Green Thumb Gardening Series to answer your questions. Come at 10 am on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016. Microsoft Word: The Basics

Do you need to type documents for work or personal use? The Maud Marks Library will be offering a Basic Microsoft Word Class in the computer lab on October 11 at 1 PM. This class is a basic introduction to Microsoft Word. Learn how to use the tool bar and create a word document. So come on by the Maud Marks Library on Tuesday, October 11 at 1 PM and start typing word documents in no time!


 Have you ever been interested in learning about your family's history? Where did they  come from? Who was your great great grandfather? Well, we've got some great  news. Volunteers will be at the library every Wednesday  to help anyone who wants to learn more about their roots. All levels from beginners to advance will gain the skills needed to trace their family lineage using the library's genealogy databases.  The classes will be held every Wednesday at 10 AM. No registration is required. What's stopping you?
