Book Sale Saturday

Books, DVDs, and CDs are on sale at bargain prices this Saturday, August 29th from 10am till 4pm. Many items are in mint condition and there is a wide variety – everything from children’s books to college textbooks, cookbooks, fiction, romance, music and more. The Friends of Maud Marks Library are have all their inventory on display and for sale.  This is a great way to improve your personal library, pick up some great gifts and support the library.  Proceeds from the sale support the library with its collections and programs such as summer reading program, Saturday computer classes, our ESL and craft programs. High School Teen Volunteers Needed!

Calling all High School Teens! Are you needing volunteer hours this school year? The Maud Marks Library is currently accepting volunteer applications.

Volunteers must be in high school and be able to commit to 2 hours a week. Come by the library to fill out and turn in an application. The first Teen Volunteer Orientation is on Thursday, September 3, at 4:30 PM. All new volunteers are required to attend an orientation before they can begin volunteering.

Friday Movie Madness

Entertain the kids one more time before school starts with the showing of a fine feathered fantasy-Duck Tales the Movie:Treasure of the Lost Lamp. Showtime is 1:15 pm with free popcorn.

Ace the Test!

So, how are you preparing for the most important exam you will ever take?  At the Maud Marks Library, we have an idea!  On Saturday, at 10:15 AM, Kaplan will be here to give a mock exam to all interested high school and even upper junior high students.  It will be the real exam given under real exam conditions so you can get a real feel before the big day!  Sign up here to join us and don't forget to bring your #2 pencils, a calculator, and a snack.  (After all, you'll be here for 4 whole hours and will want to keep up your energy levels.)  See you Saturday!

Computer Classes

There is still room in the two computer classes being taught at Maud Marks this week.  The eBooks workshop is a hands on help class.  Bring your device and we will show you how to find and download eBooks and/or audio books.  This class is on Tuesday, August 18 at 10 am in the computer lab.  At 1 pm on Tuesday, August 18 come and learn how to set up an account  on Facebook.  Facebook makes it easy for you to connect and share with your family and friends online.  Both classes are free of charge.
