About Maud Smith Marks Branch Library

Hello, I'm Akhila Bhat. I joined Harris County Public Library in 2008. I have served as a children’s librarian and assistant branch manager for the children’s department at Barbara Bush Library and stepped into the role as branch manager at Maud Marks Library in 2018.

My passion is working with children and families to provide them with enrichment and educational opportunities. In my role as branch manager, I enjoy providing programs and services for all ages, building lifelong relations in the community, and strengthening partnerships. My goal is to maximize library resources to meet the needs of our growing community. In my free time, I love traveling and spending time with friends and family.
