June book talk and a way to help save monarch butterflies

Monarch butterflies are far less common than they were when you were young(er). Their numbers are down by more than 90 percent since the 1990s. In large part that is because of herbicides used in agriculture that destroy milkweeds, which is the only plant monarchs will lay their eggs on.

Free Computer Classes for June

The following computer classes will be offered in June:

Computer Basics I - presented on June 3, 3:00 p.m.
Computer Basics II - presented on June 10, 3:00 p.m.
Computer Basics III - presented on June 17, 3:00 p.m.
Computer Basics IV - presented on June 24, 3:00 p.m.

To register for classes you may either stop by the reference desk or phone the library at 281-484-2036 and one of the librarians will sign you up for the classes.

Improving Your Life Through Meditation

Meditation can bring about a sense of calm and balance that benefits your emotional, physical and spiritual well-being.  It is easy to learn and can have many lasting and beneficial effects.  After you meditate the benefits don't end when your session ends.

Congratulations to a new U.S. citizen

Congratulations to Tien Nguyen, who recently passed her U.S. citizenship interview! She will be attending her oath ceremony soon. Tien attended Linh Nguyen's citizenship class at the library to practice for civics part of the interview.
