From the 2018-2019 Texas Bluebonnet List, we will be reading “The Unlucky Lottery Winners of Classroom 13” by Honest Lee and Matthew J. Gilbert. What would YOU do with a billion dollars?

We will be making a snack that taste like a million bucks!

This program is for grades 3-5

Space is limited. Please arrive early to ensure participation.

Spring Break for Teens at the Library: Murder Mysteries and 3D Printing

Staying at home this spring break? Want something fun to do? Visit the Spring Branch-Memorial Library for our special teen programs, including murder mysteries and 3D printing!

magnifying glassOn Monday, March 12 and Friday, March 16 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., we’ll host a murder mystery brunch for teens (grades 6-12). You’ll be able to enjoy breakfast foods and hone your detective skills while you solve a mystery, hosted by The Murder Mystery Company, all while the library is closed!

Registration is required and is now open!  Please register for only one time:

On Tuesday, March 13 from 4 to 5 p.m., we’ll host a special 3D printing program for teens (grades 6-12). Join us to learn about 3D printing from a Harris County Public Library’s maker programming specialist. We’ll even have a 3D printer for you to see in operation!    No registration is required for this event.

Read Across America Day

Join us under the Truffula trees for a celebration of the world of Dr. Seuss including stories, crafts, games, snacks and fun!

Time: 2:00 p.m. Dr. Seuss story in our Garden Area (behind the library).

          2:15-3:30 p.m. Enjoy crafts, games and snacks!

People of the BookTitle to be discussed: People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks.  Date of meeting: March 13, 6:30 p.m.  Summary: "In 1996, Hanna Heath, a young Australian book conservator is called to analyze the famed Sarajevo Haggadah, a priceless six-hundred-year-old Jewish prayer book that has been salvaged from a destroyed Bosnian library. When Hanna discovers a series of artifacts in the centuries' old binding, she unwittingly exposes an international cover up."

Green Thumb Lecture Series: Herbs

Have you ever wondered whether gardening with herbs is challenging?  Have you attempted to grow herbs, but are getting tired of the constant trial and error?  Would you like to expand your gardening know-how or learn about the herbs’ various uses and benefits?  The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the Harris County Master Gardeners will walk you through planting, growing, caring for, and using herbs.
