Living History: Knights and Castles in the Library!

Step back in time to Medieval England in the Children's Area on Wednesday, June 27th!  Enjoy a museum style exhibit and learn about knights and castles, kings and queens, folk tales, King Arthur, Robin Hood and other historical events!  Activities include, hobby horse pool noodle jousting, embroidery demo, photo booth fun and more!  No registration required and all ages welcome!  Exhibit will be open for two hours between 3pm - 5 pm!

Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Read All About It!

Twenty writers have joined together to each author one chapter of a uniquely-styled novel. The story will be created as each writer goes along, and you can join us for the ride! Check in each week for a new chapter to be posted.

Reading Rocks with Socks and Fox in the Children's Area!

Are you having as much fun this Summer as we are?  On Monday, June 25th at 3pm the fun continues in the Children's Area with the amazing talent of Julian Franlin!  Enjoy his unique and creative tribute to Dr. Seuss: Reading Rocks with Socks and Fox!  Magic, mime, illusions, comedy and more await you!  Tickets are required for this program. They are FREE and handed out 45 minutes prior to the start time in the Children's Area!

Three Nasty Gnarlies Live in the Children's Area!

  On Monday, June 18th at 3:00 pm you don't want to miss a special presentation by Books Alive!  Based on the hilarious Keith Graves book: Three Nasty Gnarlies, you'll laugh along with the antics of Grubby Gurgle, Stanky Stoo and Ooga-Mooga at this live performance that is sure to delight all ages!  Tickets are required for this program, they are FREE and available 45 minutes prior to the start time in the Children's Area of the Library! All children attending this performance will have a chance to enter their name for a giveaway of the book. *1 entry per child when picking up tickets and winner must be present at the conclusion of the show.

Houston Astros Mascot Orbit is Coming to the Library!

  Hey Astros fans -  Orbit is coming to the Library!   Wear your Astros gear and meet the World Champion Houston Astros mascot on Monday, June 11th at 3:00 pm!  Fans of all ages will enjoy skits, stories and fun along with pictures, autographs and a chance to see Orbit's very own World Series ring!  Tickets are required to attend this program.  They are FREE and available at the Children's Area of the library beginning 45 minutes prior to the start time.
