Pet ownership has long been linked to health benefits. Emotional bonds between people and their pets have been demonstrated time and time again. In an interesting twist, W. Bruce Cameron's novel, "A Dog's Purpose," does not focus on the human perspective but instead takes the reader on a journey into the mind of the dog, himself (and, later, herself) as Bailey is reborn into new lives and seeks his purpose for living.
The North Channel Book Club will discuss "A Dog's Purpose," on Wednesday, September 26 at 10 am. Join us in the meeting room for discussion.
The North Book Club selection for October will be Jonathan Safran Foer's novel, "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close."
