The USA LEGO Robotics Camp will be returning to Freeman Library for four Saturdays from February 9 through March 2. This free camp is for children 7-11 years. The children use the LEGO WeDo program on laptops and LEGO kits to create fun projects together. The children learn mechanical and science concepts while they work in pairs or a small group to build the projects. They are assisted by a middle school teacher and teen as well as adult volunteers.
Due to the popularity of the program, we have a drawing for spots. Registration for the drawing begins Saturday, January 19 and runs through Saturday, January 26. Parents or caregivers of children 7-11 years may register their child for the drawing at the Kids Information Desk. There will be a registration box at the desk. The children whose names are drawn for the camp will be notified by email or phone by Friday, February 1.
This camp began in 2009 through the generous donations of United Space Alliance and the Friends of Freeman Library.
