Looking for a chance for your child to have fun creating and interacting with other children? The Children's Department at Freeman Library has just what you're looking for and it's free... We recently put out a set of wooden building blocks and they are a big hit with children as well as grown-ups. At almost any time of the day, you're likely to see children working together on a grand building project.
Children's librarian, Elizabeth Hunt, came up with the idea to purchase the blocks. She also coordinates our activity tables that have puzzles and other challenging projects for children to enjoy. The puzzles and the projects on the activity tables are changed out monthly to give some variety.
The building blocks are in the same location that we have had a puppet stage with an array of hand puppets. The puppet stage and puppets have been a big hit, too. The building blocks and the puppet stage also will be switched out monthly. The building blocks will be out for the rest of March, then the puppet stage will return in early April for a month's run.
