I picked up The Night Ferry because it looked interesting. In it, London detective Alisha Barba, recovering from an on duty injury, gets a note from an old friend. The note just says, “I’m in trouble. I must see you. Please come to the reunion.” And so she makes her way to her school reunion. There her pregnant friend, Cate, says that someone is trying to steal her baby. Before Alisha can find out more, her friend is killed. It turns out Cate was not pregnant at all and Alisha suspects her friend was trying to buy a baby. I’ve enjoyed Robotham’s previous books, Lost and Suspect and this one was also well written and full of action.
