A new film of The Great Gatsby will be released on May 10 and I can’t wait to see it. The anticipation has me wanting to familiarize myself with the novel and the earlier movie versions, with F. Scott Fitzgerald, and with the Roaring Twenties. Here are some audio choices for those of you who may share my fascination with this era:
New World Coming: The 1920s and the Making of Modern America by Nathan Miller. Read by Lloyd James on both eAudio and CD.
Last Call: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition by Daniel Okrent. Read by the author on CD (abridged).
Tender Is the Night by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Read by George Guidall on CD.
This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Read by Dick Hill on eAudio.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Other Jazz Age Tales by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Read by Grover Gardner on CD; various readers on eAudio.
and of course,
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. CD and eAudio, various readers.
