Come join a club and meet some people who like to read the same kinds of books that you do.
Here’s what everyone is reading in May:
Afternoon Book Club (1st Tuesday, 3 pm): A Land More Kind than Home [3] by Wiley Cash

Non-Fiction Book Club (3rd Tuesday, 3 pm): The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine [7] by Michael Lewis
History Book Club (4th Tuesday, 7 pm): 1434: The Year a Magnificent Chinese Fleet Sailed to Italy and ignited the Renaissance [8]by Gavin Menzies

We're Back 'Up'! [15]

In case you couldn't get ahold of us online this morning, our servers were 'down' all over the County library system. But we're back up now and we'll be open until 5 pm. C'mon in and do what you need to do at the library this afternoon.

Help! I Need a Print Card! [19]

Your librarians have been hard at work writing, directing and starring in handy informational videos that demystify the library. This time, the Reference Librarians tackled the complicated task of purchasing a print card. Ever been confused about all the steps involved in buying a print card? We hope that watching this video simplifies the process for you and makes printing at the library a stress-free endeavor.

Countdown to Children's Summer Reading Program! [24]

In just one month, the biggest event of the year for [all] libraries will begin!  The 2013 Summer Reading program, “Have Book – Will Travel” begins on June 3rd through August 10th!  This year’s program promises to be better than ever with activities and programs to delight children of all ages!  On Monday afternoons at 3:00 pm, you’ll be entertained by magicians, jugglers, puppets, musicians and storytellers, as well as learn about dinosaurs and bugs (yes, Jungle Jim is coming!).  On Wednesday afternoons at 4:30 pm children ages 8 – 12 can play chess!  Movies will be shown on Thursdays at 3:00 pm and [free] popcorn will be served!  On Monday nights at 6:00 pm and Saturdays at 1:30 pm, the Pokemon League meets.  And, if all of this isn’t fun enough, we have age appropriate story times during the week and a Family story time on Tuesday nights at 6:30 pm!  At the end of May, you’ll be able to pick up a children's program calendar at any reference desk in the library or you can access the calendar online [26].  Get ready for a Summer of fun…we are!

Build a Remarkable Brand [29]

Business people these days are concerned about branding [30]. A business' brand is more than its logo: it is the promise or experience that this business will deliver. The third in this year's Business Success Seminars is all about Building a Remarkable Brand.
Michael (Mike) Hagan, BCC Coach & Consultant of Marketing and More will take participants through the steps of building a remarkable business brand this Friday, May 3rd, at 1:30 p.m. It will be held in the East Hall of LSC-Tomball in Room E-177. Like all our programs, admission is free, and no pre-registration is required. Everyone is welcome.
