This historical mystery, first in a new series by Tessa Harris, opens with American physician Thomas Silkstone in London, 1780, to study surgery. Thomas plans to learn and then return to America to practice, but the suspicious death of a libertine nobleman takes him away from bustling London to a country estate, where he will use his medical knowledge – and what we would today call forensic science – to solve a crime.
There is also a bit of romance and a good deal of period detail, and the character of Thomas is quite appealing. The eAudio version is read by Simon Vance, who has the most beautiful British accent. Great choice for your commute!
