Are you a fan of the villains? Do you like your action with a good helping of blood, gore and violence? Maul: Lockdown by Joe Schreiber has brought together both action and character development of one of the prequel's most fascinating and mysterious Sith Lords in this new addition to the Star Wars Expanded Universe.
With the back drop of the prison colony, Cog Hive Seven, Darth Maul is undercover on a mission to intercept a weapon for his Master Darth Sidious. While trying to survive the gladiatorial matches the prison arranges for the inmates, he must ferret out the elusive arms dealer Iram Radique. Though this story is fast paced and action oriented, don't miss the deeper elements here. We see a little of what makes Maul tick, his devotion to Sidious, his self-doubt and fears.
In the background of the story the plotting and scheming of Darth Sidious and Darth Plagueis work to manipulate the unwitting Maul to their will while they try to shape the galaxy to their dark ideal. If you are interested in a tie-in novel there is some plot and character crossover with James Luceno's Darth Plagueis .
