* On Thursday, April 17, they will take participants to Rienzi, a MFAH house museum, for a guided tour. This lovely house was designed by prominent Houston architect John Staub in 1952 and is located on a beautifully landscaped 4-acre lot in River Oaks. It houses a substantial collection of European decorative arts, paintings, furnishings, porcelain, and miniatures. This is an amazing bargain at $6.
* On Tuesday, April 29, participants will be transported to Pct. 4’s Big Stone Lodge for a yummy lunch and a “hootenany” of southern, country, and bluegrass gospel music. Another amazing deal for just a $5 suggested donation.
* April’s big trip will be on Wednesday, the 30th, to the Texas Cotton Gin Museum in Burton, Texas, for a fun and educational presentation about cotton and the cotton industry ($7), followed by lunch at Royer’s Round Top Café.
