I’m a Dummie! I love using the For Dummies [2]series of books whenever I need to learn about a new topic. I’ve also on occasion used the Idiot’s Guide [3]series. (I don’t believe you are what you read!) But, when it comes to learning about computer-related topics, the choices are even greater.
If you’re a very visual learner, a nice one to try is the Teach Yourself Visually [4]series. The books are full of color screenshots and detail with easy instructions. Step by Step is a series published by Microsoft Press and usually comes with a CD-ROM in the back of the book for practice exercises. If you’re a Dummies or Idiot fan like me, also try these similar series: The Missing Manual [5], Absolute Beginner’s Guide [6], and How to Do Everything With [7].
