I must admit I have been in love with werewolves ever since I saw Oz on Buffy the Vampire Slayer . Unlike the undead world of vampires, werewolves can walk in the human world without being noticed. Some transform during the full moon but that legend changes depending upon the author. With the popularity of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series, werewolf stories have also become more popular and here are some of my favorites.
Annette Curtis Klause's Blood and Chocolate is about the consequences a teenage werewolf must face when she falls in love with a human boy. Should she leave her pack and join the human world? Can she?
What do you do when the werewolf you love might be responsible for murder? Find out in Cynthia Leitich Smith's Tantalize .
Looking for a good series? Stephen Cole's Wereling series features love, lycanthropy, and world domination.
If you venture into the adult fiction section, you can find one of my current favorites Sharp Teeth by Toby Barlow. Written in the poetic form of free verse, it's about Los Angeles werewolves, gangs, and an ingenious plan to take over the L.A. If you like Ellen Hopkins, you might like this book. It's gritty and edgy. And chock full o'werewolves!
