Mary E. Stallman grew up on the farmlands of SE Texas and developed a love of nature which serves as inspiration for her paintings. She started with charcoal sketching and drawings, also trying watercolors, pastels and sculpting. Marriage and motherhood did not allow much time for art instruction, but the desire ran deep. Once Mary retired her need to paint emerged. She took instruction and began to paint full time. Her inspiration comes from the natural of our world, she is a realist with attention to detail and a philosophy of being true to nature in her work. Come to the Barbara Bush Branch Library at 6817 Cypresswood Drive in April to see her work.
