The Art Car Parade hosted by The Orange Show for Visionary Arts was held this past weekend in downtown Houston. The Harris County Public Library participated in the event for the second year in a row by having a booth in the parade’s Fun Zone. Know this, fun was certainly had. Not only was HCPL able to share information about its services to many parade goers, but it was able to flex its artistic muscles as well. Three art book carts were on display, which were created by teen volunteers from various branches. Plus, kids had the opportunity to create their own art cars with a craft provided by the library. Stay tuned for more pictures highlighting the day.
