AND THE WINNERS OF THE TEEN WRITING CONTEST ARE ...

The winners of the 2010 Summer Teen Writing Contest were announced August 14 at a reception at the Barbara Bush Library. Almost 70 entries were received in the contest co-sponsored by the Young Adult Librarians at the Barbara Bush and Lonestar College Tomball branches. Congratulations to all entrants on a job well done! Winners in the four categories were:

Middle School Poetry
1st - Brandon Ohl for "Abominations"
2nd - Brandi Ransom for "Lost"
3rd - Kezia Lozano for "Mixed Feelings"

Middle School Short Story
1st - Kezia Lozano for "Lost, but Free"
2nd - Nadia Halim for "Goodbye, I Love You"
3rd - Trevin Cooper for "The Strike Back"

High School Poetry
1st - Julie Ann Banks for "Red"
2nd - Celia Watson for "Again"
3rd - Meaghan Kelly for "Skiing"

High School Short Story
1st - Jasmine Barnes for "Jerome"
2nd - Hafsa Bouderdaben for "Melody"
