More than 100 people of all ages and ethnic groups joined together on Feb. 26 to celebrate Black History month with the African American Read-In. Five authors (Cathy Clay, Karen Brown, Tracy Burries-Hall, Wanda Purnell, and Stella Alexander) displayed and read from their works. This is the 22nd national celebration of this event, and the fourth that has taken place at the Barbara Bush Library. It is co-sponsored by the Barbara Bush Library Friends and the E.B.O.N.Y. organization (Enrichment & Brotherhood Organization of Northwest Youth).
